    Which dice do I need?

    • 1 × D6: Ludo, snakes and ladders, and most family board games.
    • 2 × D6: Monopoly, Catan, backgammon and craps-style party games.
    • 5 × D6: Yahtzee and other dice-scoring games.
    • D20: attack rolls and skill checks in Dungeons & Dragons.
    • D4, D8, D10, D12: damage rolls and other role-playing game mechanics.

    Are online dice fair?

Yes. Every die uses your browser's cryptographic random number generator, so each face has exactly the same chance, and no roll depends on the one before. Real dice can be slightly uneven from wear or manufacturing; these can't.

With two six-sided dice, 7 is the most common total (1 in 6 rolls) because it can be made in the most ways: 1+6, 2+5, 3+4, 4+3, 5+2 and 6+1. Totals of 2 and 12 are the rarest, at 1 in 36.
